What We Do

Dr. Bryan Smith’s Translational NanoImmunoEngineering Lab (T-NIE) at Michigan State University (MSU) focuses on developing innovative solutions to biomedical problems that harness the power of the immune system at the intersection of chemistry, biology, and nanotechnology.

Dr. Smith’s lab transitioned from Stanford University School of Medicine. We are using breakthrough nanoengineering, immunology, and imaging technologies to develop new strategies to therapeutically manipulate and visualize the immune system in living subjects. We develop novel nano-immunoimaging and nano-immunotherapy platforms to treat and diagnose various diseases including:

Cancer
Atherosclerosis
Neurodegeneration
